Union County Family Connection has been the fortunate recipient of assistance from River City Bank of Blairsville. We have worked together to help students have the shoes they need to get off on the right foot, this school year. We wish to thank River City for coordinating this effort, as well as the many other businesses and individuals who contributed. Those businesses include: Alexander’s Store, Mountain Home Health, Pat’s Hallmark, Ruby Kate’s, Harvey Jaxon, Abide Coffee, All Saints Lutheran Church, From Me 2 U, Blairsville Cruisers, Tanner’s Towing, as well as the many River City Bank customers and community members who donated. The collective effort led to a donation of over 550 pairs of shoes! This allows Family Connection to have the needed sizes on hand and meet the need quickly when a teacher or school staff member requests them for a student. We have witnessed the change in a child’s demeanor when they put on a new pair of shoes, they can be proud of wearing. Thank you to each person who was a part of this effort!
